Engineering

MTD has a fully staffed and equipped engineering department. All of our quoting, design, process development and project management operations are handled by our engineering staff.

Project Management

At the inception of every project, MTD assigns a single point of contact for our customer. This Project Manager oversees the project from beginning to end and will develop a timeline in conjunction with the customer’s needs.

Wire EDM & CNC Machining

MTD has wire cutting and precision machining capabilities in house. Our wire and CNC machines run 2 shifts, 6 days per week to supply our tool room. This capability allows us to closely monitor quality and give us the ability to maintain timelines.

Design

Tool, fixture and assembly designs are developed in house. We provide turnkey manufacturing solutions which include MTD created design integration. Our designers use the most up to date CAD modeling software.

Progressive Die Stamping

Our presses range from 32 tons to 800 tons and bed sizes up to 72" X 144". We have the ability to coil feed up to 3/4" thick raw material. Quick Die Change capabilities are present on our presses to maximize efficiency.

Short/ Medium Run & Prototyping

MTD has the flexibility and know how to produce prototype parts as well as short & medium sized production runs. From part design through to process development and production, our engineering and manufacturing staff work together to create the product you want.

CNC Turnings

Our precision CNC turning centers run for both internal component consumption and for outgoing production of customer requirements.

EDI

Our Electronic Data Interchange capability allows for optimization of our production scheduling and just in time manufacturing. We are able to seamlessly respond to our customer’s production releases day in and day out.

Metal Fabrication

MTD’s metal fabrication capabilities include:

• MIG, TIG, Spot, Automated and Robotic welding
• Laser cutting
• CNC Machining & Lathe
• Manual Machining & Lathe
• Press Brake machines up to 60 t

ISO & IATF19649 CERTIFIED

MTD undergoes third party certification on a yearly basis to adhere to this internationally recognized quality management system. IATF19649 is a quality certification that is specific to the automotive industry. ISO is a universal quality standard that is generally regarded as the basis of Quality Management fundamentals. Our certification to these standards ensures that MTD is equipped to deal with any of the challenges that may arise in today’s manufacturing environment.
